Viewpoint Zen Stecken
Do you want a photo of the Matterhorn behind lush green or snow-covered meadows? This is the spot.
A beautiful walk via Kirchplatz through the upper end of the village brings you here. The natural landscape and hiking trails start here, with the Matterhorn towering above the meadows. It's an incredible backdrop to any photo. In May, the meadows are full of crocuses, making any Matterhorn photo that bit more beautiful.

- After taking a photo, you can head off on one of the trails to Zmutt, Blatten, Zum See or Furi.
- If you’d rather travel by train, you can take the lift to the Matterhorn glacier paradise valley station and climb aboard the Matterhorn Express to Furi, Schwarzsee or Trockener Steg. The Matterhorn glacier ride continues on to the Klein Matterhorn, the highest cable car station in Europe (3,883 m).
- In summer, the Zen Stecken ‘Geissengädi’ (goat barn) is next to the photo point; this is the Blackneck goats’ overnight accommodation.
