An informal, stylish atmosphere with dedicated staff who go the extra mile for guests, even once the work day has finished: this is how the Prix Bienvenu jury described the Zermatt hotel The Omnia, awarding it the prize for the "Friendliest Hotel in Switzerland" in the luxury hotel category at the Schweizer Ferientag tourism industry conference in Interlaken on 17 April 2018.
Schweiz Tourismus and American Express have given out the Prix Bienvenu for the last six years. The jury comprises representatives from Schweiz Tourismus, hotelleriesuisse, GastroSuisse, Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, University of Bern and Swisscard. The industry-wide award is intended to shine a spotlight on the best in the industry and inspire everyone to aim for the very top.
The prize is based on guests’ online reviews and is awarded in four categories, including the luxury hotel category: boutique hotel, large hotel and city hotel. In these categories, the winners were Hotel Glocke (Reckingen), Hotel Allegra (Pontresina) and Micro Hotel (Basel).
Other Zermatt hotels were also amongst the top 100: Coeur des Alpes, Hotel Bella Vista, Hotel Alpenlodge and Cervo Mountain Boutique Resort. They will be showcased on a number of Schweiz Tourismus’ national and international marketing platforms.
