15/02/2019

Snow-Online has once again selected the crème de la crème of winter sports – the ten best ski resorts in the world for the 2018/2019 winter season. The experts looked at over 250 ski resorts and tested them in ten categories. The outcome: Zermatt wins the title.

"Below the majestic Matterhorn, Zermatt offers a skiing experience that hardly any other ski resort in the world can match," is the verdict of the latest Snow-Online report, crowning the Matterhorn ski paradise the best ski resort in the world. The experts looked at over 250 ski resorts and tested them in ten categories. The opening of the spectacular Matterhorn glacier ride was particularly instrumental in helping Zermatt to claim first place. The Matterhorn ski resort has already won the top award in 2015 and 2016.

The test not only praises the innovation of the world's highest 3S cable car, but also the introduction of a dynamic pricing system that provides winter sports enthusiasts who book in advance with significant savings on ski passes. The award from the Swiss Tourism Association as a Family Destination shows that it is also an ideal choice for family holidays.

Zermatt scores a maximum of 10 points in each of the categories of advanced skiers, freeride and snow. 9 points are awarded in the categories service, terrain parks and on-mountain dining – with 8 points in the categories beginner, nightlife, value for money and family.
